Here is a document from a school OSC (can't remember the long name for the school) - it looks at the IB learner profile and links it to professionalism

Tony: I like the idea of the document above, but think each statement should included or be directed to all members of the community (teachers, students, parents, support staff, etc).
Stephanie: IICS is a community of lifelong learners. The staff and faculty, in addition to the students, continue to improve their knowledge and skills as educators through a variety of techniques.

Speaking on behalf of the Australian Council of State School Organisations, Peter Garrigan, claims "Our children need their teachers working collegially, not only with each other, but with the other key players in a child's development. Supporting a student to succeed is not about one individual's effort, but a team of people working to ensure that each student's individual needs are catered for."
I really like the concept of collaboration as the driving force behind the learning of all students - important to remember communcation, interactions, participation and teamwork as we develop our practices.

    10. Risk-takers - They approach unfamiliar situations and uncertainty with courage and forethought, and have the independence of spirit to explore new roles, ideas and strategies. They are brave and articulate in defending their beliefs.
These attributes represent values that teachers, students and all who work at the School aim to develop in themselves.
Jonathan here - I came across this quote from an article about teacher incentives this morning (4/5/2011)
